Robin Taylor

Following an extensive career in the international music industry Robin Taylor finally succumbed to the lure of Africa and his long-time passion photography.

After a decade in Europe his return to Africa triggered a career change. Robin immersed himself in the very different world of photojournalism and his first love wildlife photography, garnering an impressive array of international credits for writing as well as his stunning images. He has traveled extensively through Southern and East Africa forging close relationships with many game reserves lodges and camps.

In 1997 and ’98 Robin spread his wings moving from big cats to the catwalk photographing the World’s most beautiful women as official photographer for Miss World in the Seychelles.

Robin moved into TV working as stills photographer and location manager for various wildlife programs and a feature film, prompting him to explore this ‘new medium’. The result was ‘African Odyssey A Photographer’s Journey’ a 13 part TV and DVD series chronicling Robin’s journeys and explorations through Africa, a perfect vehicle for him to capture the many moods of this underexposed continent. The series was snapped-up by Animal Planet and other broadcasters.

Following this international success Robin was approached by UK publisher Fountain press to produce a photographic book based on the TV series and his many journeys. The result is ‘African Odyssey A Photographer’s Journey’ which has received wide critical acclaim.
A second book is in progress and is planned for release at the beginning of 2009.

African Odyssey is currently working on new and original TV productions for international release.

As a wildlife photographer Robin shows a keen eye for life around him expressing this superbly with his fascinating, evocative sometimes unorthodox images, portraying in fine detail that vast wildlife stage found in Southern and East Africa.

As a result of keen international interest, Robin has made available some of his images as limited edition archive prints.
